Nov 4, 2018

It’s November, which means your holiday to-do list has materialized, seemingly out of thin air, and it’s about ten times longer than you remember it being last year. We’ve got something else to add to the list, right at the top. But take care of it, and you can drive to complete all your other tasks with peace of mind. So just what is it we’d like you to do? Schedule a trip to the Sansone Mazda service center to winterize your vehicle.

We’ll look your Mazda vehicle over from top to bottom and let you know what it needs to properly handle the winter weather around Edison, NJ.

First, the basics. Make sure all lights are in working order and that your fluids are full and properly calibrated. That means the right ratio of antifreeze to water in your coolant, thinner oil to flow properly in cold temperatures, and freeze-resistant wiper fluid to keep your windshield clear. We’ll make sure your wipers aren’t braking down either, and may suggest thicker winter wipers.

Then it’s on to the brakes and battery. We really want to make sure your battery is in top shape, as battery capacity takes a hit when the temperatures drop—and nobody needs to be in a snow-covered parking lot with a car that won’t start. For any parts you need, you can take advantage of our Mazda parts special to save 10 percent.

When was the last time you checked the tread on your tires? Don’t worry, we’ve got that covered too. You may want to consider investing in snow tires. With extra-thick tread patterns, siping (small cuts in the treads) to increase surface area and boost traction, and a rubber compound specially formulated to roll with Old Man Winter’s punches, snow tires provide surer footing in winter weather.

While we’re taking a look at your car, make a list of everything you want to include in a winter preparedness kit to be kept in your car just in case. Our Mazda dealers serving Woodbridge, NJ look forward to helping you soon!
