Ah, car buying myths. They never fade. Sansone Mazda has been around a while, and we’ve heard every car buying myth under the sun. So if you’re interested in a Mazda6 or a Mazda CX-3 near Edison, NJ, here’s a heads-up regarding myths you should ignore.

Bring your own financing: On the surface, this myth seems reasonable. You might have a great relationship with your local bank or financial advisor, and you’re thinking, “Why not give my car finance business to him?” The problem with this arrangement is that bringing your own financing is similar to paying cash for a car: we can’t offer you any of our excellent financing specials or sales event-related discounts. It doesn’t matter how well you know your bank – it will never be able to offer the same financing perks as our nearby Mazda dealership in Avenel, NJ.

Don’t mention your trade-in until the last minute: This one is a real doozy. Let’s say you navigate to “Mazda dealership near me,” arrive at our local Mazda dealer, and spend a couple of hours shopping around and taking a test drive. You find a Mazda car you like, we start negotiating a deal, and then you say, “Oh by the way, I’d like to trade in my current car.” Alas, this isn’t a hail-mary that could net you a better deal. Instead, it’s grounds for us to start the negotiation over from scratch, because now we have to account for your trade-in with regard to sales price, financing, protection plans, and more.

Other myths, i.e. wait until month’s end to buy a car, or “buy now or the deal will disappear”, should also be avoided. However, what shouldn’t be avoided is the chance to buy an exceptional Mazda automobile for a great price at our local Mazda dealer!
